I know it has been a while since we did any remodeling posts. That doesn’t mean, however, we haven’t been hard at work at the Cottage on the Corner. We have a lot to show you. But that will come in all good time. Today, we’re going to take a peek at half the kitchen – the half that’s done!
First, let’s get a bit of perspective. Here are a couple of shots of the “before.” The first one is from the MLS listing; the second is the move-in condition:
Hey, folks, this is Dan. In this post, Debra talks about the Hildring House hallway transformation. A lot of the changes we’ve made at Hildring House have been pretty dramatic (especially the unfitted kitchen, which is the subject of an exciting surprise we’ll reveal soon – cue suspenseful music). None, however, were more fundamental – transforming the entire house – than the one she talks about today. As usual, my comments will be in italics. Hildring House Hallway
I mentioned in my last post that Hildring House originally had a long, dark, notverypretty hallway.
As I mentioned in the last post, we had three living areas in the mid-century ranch. The smallest of the three we decided to use as a library. Here is a before shot: Not terrible, really. Dated wallpaper not exactly to our taste, dated paneling not exactly to our taste, the ubiquitous late ’70s brass fireplace doors, those vertical blinds that I’ve never really liked and never really work as intended, and ho-hum carpet.
